What is the Yavapai lodge in the Grand Canyon like? - grand canyon lodging
I will visit the Grand Canyon in a weak envelope, and remain in Yavapai Lodge for 5 days. I want to save money, think of buying some food and water before entering the park. Is there a microwave in every room of the Yavapai Lodge? Or do you have a good idea for meals in the park?

I stayed at Yavapai Lodge a month ago. My room had a small refrigerator but no microwave. It is likely for most of the rooms at Yavapai, but it would be wise to call and confirm.
Yavapai Lodge is nothing special, but it's nice and convenient (and less expensive than others). His biggest flaw is that all the lodges of the park is not the only one who is just a short walk from the rim. However, even within the park into a beautiful tree, and then away from the coast, a little more peace and quiet. I personally preferred the Maswik Lodge, which is very similar to Yavapai, but near the edge. Yavapai is still good.
From the standpoint of saving money on food, a great advantage for Yavapai Lodge is situated in the bustling market is situated - in the small town is the grocery store and post office, etc. You can probably be eating cheap enough to buy things at a supermarket - as something more expensive than in a big city, but still much cheaper than the food sitting in a park, restaurants. The shop also offers a snack bar is probably less than the cheapest eats in the gun ready.
As for the canyon jump restaurants, cafeterias at Yavapai Lodge and Maswik cheaper, but a little expensive compared to external standards. Depends on what you get, of course, but $ 8.12 for each meal is probably a fairly normal range of food and beverages, too. Some tourist restaurants just outside the park entrance on the street in the town of Tusayan is probably a little cheaper than the park, but does not leave much, and the concern with the park to reach it. Tusayan is a McDonalds, there is probably the cheapest option out.
Cities close to real "food and a wide range of options for dining in Flagstaff (15 hours drive) and Williams (1 hour).
If you are really concerned about the cost of food, I would not say that the items in stock at Flagstaff Koch (trail mix, a loaf of bread, lunch meat, PB & J, jerkey keeping, fruit) for sale in the refrigerator. Nobody goes to the Grand Canyon for the oil --d do - what you need to do to move forward and enjoy the view.
However, if you splurge a little more money for a night or two, I recommend the Grill Room of Arizona, the eastern end of the Bright Angel Lodge (which come from abroad) - good food, expensive, great views from the rim, less as the El Tovar and Bright Angel Bestfoods.
Enjoy!
Yavapai no microwave. It is a mile from the rim, but other things that the free shuttle to move through the park. I recommend it on the edge of the parking lot is a nightmare at any time of year. As with food, water, etc.. while it is in the park more expensive than if bought at home. Especially since it must be far from the world and most companies provide to employees for their houses. Do not be surprised if you to McDonald's (just outside the park), and has a lot more than normal that you pay Big Mac also go when they are used in fresh water, a small bottle. Tap water is very "hard" means that it contains a large amount of minerals and is well known that the stomach upset some people.
Like the food in the park is the El Tovar a 4-star restaurant in the park is expensive for dinner, but breakfast is cheaper and what I really (you can think of a plate). For fine dining, I recommend the Steak House in Arizona (which is also a bit expensive, but food is good, and you getwhat) you pay. Moreover, the Yavapai and Maswik (MAZ-WIC) cafeterias. Yavapai Maswik has very good fried chicken and a little of everything. Hope this helps.
